Chain links in chains include Common Link (C), EnlargedLink (EL), Open End Link (E), Swivel (SW), D Type End Shackle (ES), Connection Link (KS) or Connection Shackle (JS), etc.
The size of each link is representing by the diameter of the round steel of the link
Ordinary chain links are the majority of the chain links in the anchor chain,
while are the standard chain links that characterize the size and strength of the anchor chain.
The size of the anchor chain is expressing in Chain Diameter (mm),
where Chain Diameter (d) is the diameter of the ordinary link in the corresponding chain.
The size ratio of a regular chain link is: diameter d, width 3.6d, and length 6d.
Enlarged chain links mainly play a transitional role in the size of the chain,
with a size increase of 10% compared to the corresponding ordinary chain links in the chain.
The end link is an enlarged open link in the chain,
used to connect with other links and serve as a size transition, with a diameter of 1.2d.
Detachable Joining Link or Detachable Joining Shackle is using to connect the front and rear chains.
WhileThe connecting link is a detachable link, as shown in Figure 3, which has two forms: one is the Joining Link Kenter type,
also known as the double half type or Kenter Shackle (KS), with a diameter of d, a length of 6d, and a width of 4.2d,
which is a type of link specified by Chinese regulations and national standards;
The other type is the Joining Link C-type, also known as the scatter type.
As the diameter of the connecting link is the same as that of a regular link,
It can be directly connecting to a regular link.
When assembling the connecting link, clean all parts, apply grease to prevent rust,
while connect the chains on both sides and assemble them,
insert the taper pin into the pin hole, punch and fix it with the anchor chain,
and seal the hole at the end of the pin with a lead plug.
The Joining Shackle (JS) is a detachabling D-shaped shackle.
In order to ensure the connection strength, the diameter of the connecting shackle is increasing to 1.3d,
While both sides are connecting to the end chain link according to the pin order.
The enlarged chain link is then connecting to the ordinary chain link to ensure a smooth transition in size.
The end shackle is directly connecting to the anchor shackle at the forefront of the anchor chain, with a diameter of 1.4d.
The horizontal pin of each D-shaped shackle in the anchor chain is generally an approximate elliptical cylinder without thread.
The horizontal pin is fixing with a taper pin perpendicular to the shackle plane, and the pin opening is sealed with a lead block.
